Tavernier completes Owls loan move

Newcastle United defender James Tavernier has signed on an emergency loan deal at Hillsborough until January 2012.

As reported on Vital Wednesday earlier today, the young defender will bolster Wednesday's defensive options before the loan window closes this Thursday.

The versatile defender, who came through Leeds United's Academy, has spent the first part of this season on-loan at Carlisle United and came up against the Owls when the Cumbrians defeated Wednesday 3-2 in npower League One earlier this term.

The 20-year-old is expected to go straight into Wednesday's squad for this weekend's home clash against Leyton Orient.

Blackpool defender Miguel Llera has also been linked with a move to Wednesday and Vital understands the defender is also set to complete an emergency loan deal before Thursday.

good effort GM
Carbone's Padawan
Now assuming this fella will cover for Buxton's absence through injury, freeing Palmer to have a go on the wing in place of JJ. And Llera, if he materializes, is much needed cover for centre defence until Beevers returns, Batth's future's sorted, or both. GM's covering all bases again.

He's covering all bases but still think we may need a winger in. If Marshall (who has been excellent this season) is recalled by Stoke, then we can't rely on JJ - plain and simple! Chris Taylor at Oldham is going to be available and has expressed a wish to play at a higher level. His work-rate is immense although he's not as skilful as Marshall. Worth a cheeky punt in January or deal agreed before!
