Owls seal loan deal for Arsenal's Watt

Wednesday have completed the loan signing of highly-rated Arsenal youngster Sanchez Watt on loan until the middle of January.

As reported on Vital Wednesday earlier today, Watt has signed to bolster the Owls' attacking options in light of an injury to striker Gary Madine, who will be sidelined for six weeks with a broken toe.

Watt can play in attack or in midfield and spent last season on-loan with Championship club Leeds United. He's a product of Arsenal's youth team but is way down the pecking order at the Premier League club.

He'll be eligible to go straight into Wednesday's squad for their home clash against Leyton Orient this Saturday.

very very very happy with this.

It all boils down to having complete faith in the manager's judgement. I have and I've been impressed with his reaction to dealing with two unfortunate injuries and a suspension: To bring in three players, two from PL clubs. It's also a demonstration of MM's commitment to the cause. Well, now that GM has added three more strings to his bow, let's see what kind of tunes he can come up with.

Yep. Couldn't agree more OurMaurice. Delighted. Felt such a signing was always necessary and it gives us the option of playing 2 out and out wingers (who actually produce end product) And great to see the other 2 signings brought in quickly. I also like the fact that we don't have to move Reda from LB now if Jones is out. The less chages to a back 4 the better. It seems we are acting rather than reacting which is just another reason its great to be an Owl right now.
