Owls boss pleased with new loan duo

Wednesday boss Gary Megson was full of praise for Owls new-boys James Tavernier and Miguel Llera, who both made their debuts at the weekend.

The duo were two of three new loan recruits to arrive at Hillsborough last week before the close of the loan transfer deadline, with the other being forward Sanchez Watt from Arsenal.

Tavernier, a full-back from Newcastle United, started in place of the injured Lewis Buxton at right-back and Spanish defender Llera, on-loan from Blackpool, filled in for suspended skipper Rob Jones as Wednesday saw off Leyton Orient 1-0 to move up to second in npower League One.

And despite the pair only having a matter of days to get to know their new team-mates and the Wednesday way of playing, Megson was delighted at how they both performed.

'I thought Miguel and James did really well in their first games,' he said in Saturday's post-match press conference.

'They were calm and composed and part of a defence that got a clean sheet. Stephen Bywater didn't have a shot to save and that says a lot about the defensive display.'

Tavernier is expected to keep his place for at least a month of his stay, with Buxton ruled out of action with a broken toe, although Llera will be fighting for a spot at the heart of the Owls' back four alongside Jones and Danny Batth.

It's time to get Beevers back, it just doesn't make any sense to help promotion challengers by giving them a good defender just so we have to loan someone ourselves.

Beevers was all over the place on Saturday for MK Dons and was responsable for one goal if not two forget him and move on Supprt the guys in the Blue and White now

Honestly I have no idea how Beevers is playing, but I do know he always plays when he can for MKD, it should mean he is a valuable part of their team. I'm happy with the new guys, don't get me wrong. UTO.

RRO The sad thing is that we let him go out in the first place especially when you think we got that Foriegn geezer who we all never heard of then and since. My point is mate that he obviously is not in GMs plans and never will be in my opinion so we must progress with what we've got or have not got as the case may be

Pahaha!! Forgiving Megson-out would be like forgiving Cadaffi. I'd have to see him beaten up with blood pouring out of him to feel even the slightest bit of symapthy!!
