Arsenal keep Watt out of FA Cup tie

Wednesday loan forward Sanchez Watt will be unable to play in this Saturday's FA Cup tie against Aldershot as part of his loan agreement with parent club Arsenal.

Owls boss Gary Megson had asked permission for Watt to make his Owls debut in the second round of the famous competition at Hillsborough this weekend but the Gunners refused to give it.

It means the young forward will have to wait yet another week to pull on the famous blue and white stripes for the first time - he was left out of last weekend's squad to face Leyton Orient.

Watt will join fellow loanees Ben Marshall and Stephen Bywater, who have also been refused permission to feature for Wednesday in the FA Cup by Stoke and Derby respectively, in the stands this weekend.

Danny Batth, another loan player, will also be sidelined but through suspension.

It means Megson will have to ring the changes for the visit of the npower League Two club.
