Hammer time for Owls in FA Cup

Wednesday have drawn npower Championship side West Ham United at Hillsborough in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Owls booked their place in the third round of the prestigious competition with a 1-0 victory over Aldershot at Hillsborough yesterday afternoon.

Gary Megson's men have the advantage of a home tie in the next round, which was drawn today, against Sam Allardyce's Hammers, who are flying high in second in the Championship as they target a quick return to the Premier League.

The match will be played over the weekend of January 7 and 8.

Other notable ties include Manchester City hosting Manchester United, Arsenal welcoming Leeds United and Sheffield United will host either Salisbury City or Grimsby.

A tougher of a side than I would have liked at this point (if we were to get such a tough team I'd like it to have been Man U. or Arsenal). That said, I'm glad we're at home! Hey... Doncaster just took Southhampton, so why not us taking West Ham?

At least we're at home and you know what? I bet West Ham think it's a LOUSY draw. Allardyce will have seen what Meggo's doing here, he'll be aware of our current form and excellent home record, but it would still be viewed as an upset if they lost. They might not fancy it. I'm hoping our lads can raise their game and turn it on in front of a decent crowd.

I dont think we have anything to be afraid of.We are at home and they will not fancy coming here and trying to get a result.If anything they will take a draw and a replay at Upton Park. Look what we done to high flying Bristol City and we was away for that game.If we are at the races that day i feel we could get a result.

Has anyone heard the rumour linking a January sale of Madine?? I've been told today that he's going to Norwich with the funds being used to bring back Mellor and sign Marshall on a full contract... Does sound that GM and MM are planning business when the window opens but this one would really shock!! GM has said openly that he wants to keep Bywater which I guess means that he will have to let one of the youngsters go to. UTO Looking forward to the visit of the Hammers but would have loved a trip to Man U or Liverpool!! WAWAW

Is that the same Norwich who were holding out for half a million for Cody McDonald (who moved to Coventry and promptly sunk without trace)? In that case I doubt they could afford Gary Madine, who has all the hallmarks to become the next Andy Carroll!

I really don't want Madine to go anywhere either!! I want him to become the player we all think he can be with Wednesday. I'm fed up seeing Wednesday players reaching their true potential with other clubs. Having said that... I really hope we can find the funds to secure Marshall and add 3-4 players on perm contracts in Jan whether they are already at the club or not.
