Former Owl Turner to join Spireites

Former Wednesday player and manager Chris Turner is set to be named as Chesterfield's new chief executive.

Turner has been out of work since leaving his role of director of sport at Hartlepool United but is set to join the growing number of former Owls involved with the Spireites.

John Sheridan, a former team-mate of Turner at Hillsborough during his playing days, is the Chesterfield manager and Dave Allen, former Owls chairman, is the club's majority shareholder.

Turner will replace Carol Wilby as the Spireites chief executive.
