Beevers expected to return from Dons

Defender Mark Beevers is expected to return to Hillsborough this weekend with his loan spell at npower League One rivals MK Dons coming to an end.

The 22-year-old is eligible to play for Karl Robinson's side for the final time when they visit Brentford on Saturday and the Dons boss is expecting it to be his last match before returning to S6.

The Barnsley-born centre-back has impressed in the 14 matches he's played for the Dons since making the loan switch back in January but Robinson doesn't believe his club has the funds to retain his services beyond the weekend.

He said: 'Mark Beevers has been excellent. I'd love to keep him but we haven't got the financial strength to lure him here.'

Beevers has been surplus to first-team requirements with the Owls thanks to the impressive partnership of on-loan Danny Batth and skipper Rob Jones at the heart of the Wednesday defence.

Miguel Llera has also come to the club on-loan from Blackpool until January to act as back-up and could play at Preston North End on Saturday with Jones struggling to be fit for the clash with a back injury.

He's done well at mk so i think he deserves a fresh chance would rather have him instead of llera to be honest

I've just read that Llera's loan expired today (Tuesday) and he's now back at Blackpool. He was cup-tied anyway but with Jones injured we could see Beevers vs. West Ham. Or maybe GM will move Reda again and juggle the LB spot, which would suggest Beevers' return could be temporary. Anyway, I thought Llera did okay with us. I'd be happy enough to see him come back until the end of the season.
