Lines in League One Team of the Week

Ever-improving Wednesday midfielder Chris Lines has been included in the latest npower League One Team of the Week.

Lines, who arrived at Hillsborough this season from Bristol Rovers, scored the second goal in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers at Hillsborough on Saturday.

His top-drawer performance against the Birkenhead club has seen him rewarded by being included in the team of the week - the first one of 2012.

Two former Owls players were also included. Jon-Paul McGovern, who shone for Carlisle United as they beat Sheffield United 3-2, and Michael Morrison, now at Charlton Athletic, got the nod this week.

The full team is: Lee Butcher (Leyton Orient); Terrell Forbes (Leyton Orient), Michael Morrison (Charlton), Gary MacKenzie (MK Dons), Charlie Daniels (Bournemouth); Danny Green (Charlton), Chris Lines (Wednesday), Peter Sweeney (Bury), Jon-Paul McGovern (Carlisle); Garry Thompson (Scunthorpe), Francois Zoko (Carlisle).

Totally agree retfordowl!! If we could get players like Daniel Jones, Sidgewick, JO and JJ off the books and get business done to the emulate the impact of Lines emergencethen we would be sitting pretty. I didn't know anything about him when he arrived, I admit I didn't think he was the sort of signing we were looking for but what do I know...(Proved totally wrong) he plays with Semedo like they've always been together and in my opinion has totally replaced Prutton as No.1 for the spot (by a long way) and I never thought I'd be saying that at the start of the season.
