Wednesday close in on Llera deal

Wednesday are closing in on a deal to sign Blackpool defender Miguel Llera on a permanent deal, according to reports.

The experienced Spanish centre-back impressed Owls boss Gary Megson during a one-month loan stay, which finished after Monday's 2-1 home win over Tranmere Rovers.

And his arrival on a permanent deal at Hillsborough, which is expected to last until the end of the current campaign, is nearing completion according to reports.

Megson has made no secret of his desire to sign Llera, telling the Sheffield Star earlier this week: 'In the last two games he's [Llera] done really well for us.

'I think Miguel wants to get himself under contract somewhere and he seems to think he's going to be able to get a free transfer from Blackpool.

'I've recommended to [vice-chairman] Paul Aldridge and [chairman] Milan Mandaric that we try to get it done.'

Llera could sign before Sunday's FA Cup third round clash against West Ham at Hillsborough but he wouldn't be able to feature due to being cup-tied for playing in an earlier round while on-loan at Brentford.

Appears to be adequate cover for big Rob and now we have the Beever back to cover Batth all looks good. Reda is now only cover if we really need him as we'd all rather see him play in his converted new role. IMMIT

Yep couldnt agree more 4evaOWL. Reda needs to play in his best position and its always a good thing to make the fewest changes possible to a back 4 when injuries/suspensions occur. Lets get this one wrapped up and move on to the attacking signings I crave!!!

Like Lewis Grabban for instance? Is there something you're not telling us, Radon? A part exchange involving Sedgwick perhaps? Just a thought...
OurMaurice
Yeah c'mon Radon spill the beans.......

The rumour mill last night hinted on Facebook that we have tabled a £175,000 bid for Grabban although Sedgwick wasn't mentioned. I think however if that's the cash we've offered that it's almost nailed on that a +player deal has been suggested. We all know though that they probably will be telling us that they want twice that at least after which they'll probably sell him to anyone else for less!! WAWAW

I'm actually seeing my 'source' next week, but after the ALF debacle I'll be keeping my trap shut.
