Owls defender Reynolds joins Aberdeen

Wednesday's out-of-favour defender Mark Reynolds has moved to SPL side Aberdeen on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Reynolds has seemingly been surplus to requirements at Hillsborough this term, making just six appearances so far this season with three of them coming in cup competitions.

The Scottish full-back had been linked with a move away from Hillsborough in January and Aberdeen have taken advantage of his position to snap him up until the end of the campaign.

The Dons could well make the deal a permanent one in the summer if the offer suits all parties.

Reynolds arrived at S6 in last January transfer window when former boss Alan Irvine brought him to the club from Motherwell, but he's failed to cement a a position, making just 14 appearances in all competitions.

Hope they sign him fully after the half season loan.

Is he out of contract at the end of the season?

Wonder why Glasgow Rangers are no longer interested. Seem to recall 1 million pounds being the valuation about 12 months ago. LOL

2 years as i can remember. So 1down 1 to go. GO! ! ! being the operative word.

He's not played often... when I have seen him play I haven't thought much of him and I don't think that I will miss him that much either!! The more we move forward the more Meggo gets rid of what he can't work with and makes way for a better squad. Good business for the owls why pay him full wages when he rarely even makes the bench... I wonder if Gary has it in his mind at some point to see if he can play "the Beever" in a Reda style conversion to full back just to see if he can do it!! ;o) WTID

It speaks volumes about the quality of scotish football that someone who can't get a game in our old third division goes stratight into the scotish premiership! Let's hope they buy him.

Just a bit disappointed we ain't sold him to Aberdeen, as they've just 250,000 for a player thats gone to Bristol City.

He's off the wage bill and there's a good chance of getting something for him in the Summer assuming his contract with Wednesday runs until 2013 and Aberdeen want to keep him. He was very highly rated in Scotland but unfortunately coming to Wednesday in a period of transition didn't work out for him or us!

See Tony Pulis is still refusing to let Ben Marshall play for us in the cup.
ecco owl
Think Pulis isn't refusing to let him play more like he's not willing to put him in the shop window or cup-tie him until BM BM do do do do doo puts pen to paper on a new contract extension and is defo going to stay a Stoke player, Pulis isn't daft if Ben moves on with this little on his contract Pulis will want as much money as possible. By the sounds of it negotiations between Ben and Stoke aren't going well. At this rate we may have to wave him off on the 15th which would break my heart!! I reckon if Roberts can play like on both wings we have got to make a proper effort to sign him and another similar player of suitable quality for the other wing on the chance that Ben 10 isn't going to stay for the run in. reynolds has been very poor sp glad he's gone really hoping we can get something sorted with marshall he would be a massive loss

Lets get Theo on Loan he's not likely to get many games for the Gunners for the rest of the season!! Oh and why not Lennon from Spurs!! They'll do... but would rather keep Marshall!! ;o) UTO

I'm not sure these 'negotiations' have anything to do with Pulis. Or Ben Marshall for that matter. I think Stoke have offered what they consider as a fair contract for a 20 year old with bags of potential who has yet to pull on a 1st team shirt. It'll have been rejected by an agent who thinks his cut will struggle to keep him in checked jackets, trilbies and cigars for the next three years never mind pay for that sports car he's had his eye on, the facelift his missus so desperately needs, the pony he's promised his little princess or the boob job he's persuaded his girlfriend to have. It's just a shame these latest rumours have come hot on the heels of the 'BM set for Owls loan stay' propaganda thread (thanks lads!). For the sake of peace of mind, I recommend we all resign ourselves to the fact he'll play his last game for us next week and then brace ourselves for a pleasant surprise rather than suffer the crushing disappointment of having our hopes dashed! In the meantime, GM will have contingencies in place, so don't fret about it.

SussexOwl, it's not a gimme that he's off the wage bill. I wouldn't be surprised if we're still paying a fair chunk of his wage!
