Megson interested in Swansea's Bodde

Owls boss Gary Megson has confirmed an interest in signing Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde before the close of the January transfer window.

The Dutchman has been playing for Swansea reserves recently in a bid to get his career back on track following an injury-hit three years in which he's played just four games for the Premier League club.

Any deal for the 28-year-old is likely to be a loan deal that suits all parties. Wednesday could get the creative midfielder they're crying out for, Bodde would get much-needed first-team action on a regular basis and Swansea would get a fully-fit Bodde on his return to Wales.

Megson tried to sign the former Den Haag man during his time at Bolton Wanderers and has been a big fan of the midfielder since. Owls scouts were present to see Bodde impress in a Swansea reserve game against West Brom this week.

The Owls boss has already tried and failed to bolster his squad with a number of midfield players this month following the departure of Ben Marshall back to parent club Stoke City. Mike Jones has arrived from Bury but Megson is hoping to capture Bodde to bolster his side's push for promotion.

A player that needs match time that is said to be very good indeed sounds like a good idea to me if we can have him till the end of the season. He's said to be a box to box creative player and that's something we could do with, I haven't seen him play but was said to be instrumental in their promotion campaign, maybe he could do the same for us. Not sure where Meggo is thinking about playing him being I think he's central, maybe he's considering a switch player for lines when we need to unlock teams UTO

What a signing he would be. I remember Premiership clubs being after him a few years ago. Only thing is injuries and the curse of Hillsborough doesn't make for a great partnership espcially being a Dutch central midfielder! But would love this to come off!

It's just comforting to know we now have scouts out there acting on our behalf. Also, Brendan Rodgers is a lifelong Wednesdayite by all accounts so maybe this one's in with a chance of happening.

It seems that the quality of our off pitch staff, facilities and player care is seen as a positive factor when bringing players in that need a good quality of care. Nice to think that we are seen as a quality outfit that are trusted in helping re-abilitate players while getting their help in our campaign. As always Uncle OurMaurice agree totally, great to think we have scouts out there again looking for players to bring benefit to our club. UTO Sign him up! Sign him up... Sign him up!!

If we don't get it sorted by tuesday the loan window opens a week later so he could come in then. Would be nice to see him in time for the next home game. I'm really not thinking about tomorrow... I know I should but Tuesday is the game on my mind! Was suprised to read Meggo talking about if Beever's takes his oppurtunity then it's to his benefit whether his future is with Wednesday or not... I'm hoping he only means that he may go out on loan again when we don't have as many injury concerns. UTO

The Yorkshire post is saying that the offer is in and is awaiting agreement from his parent club could be with us by Tuesday if they make a quick decision... Case of wait and see I guess?! IMMIT
