'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Aussie Aussie Aussie!

...Oi Oi Oi! Wednesday's up coming clash with local rivals Leeds United is set to be the first live televised Championship match in Australia as it's screened down under on the Fox Sports channel at the end of the month.

And Wednesday's on-loan Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones will be the first man to celebrate the news as he hopes to impress his native Aussie's back home on Sunday 27 September.

The match is just one of a number of Premiership and Football League matches being screened in Australia as 'soccer' continues to grow following their successful World Cup campaign in Germany - which saw the Aussie's knocked out against Italy with a cruel last minute penalty from Francesco Totti.

A large number of Australian players, including Wednesday's on-loan stopper Brad Jones, are currently playing in England. Mark Viduka, Lucas Neill, Harry Kewell, Kevin Muscat, Mark Schwarzer and Stan Lazaridis are just a few of the Aussie contingent currently playing their football in the Premiership or the Football League.

The Owls clash with Leeds United is set to be screened on the Fox Sports channel on Sunday 27 September, the time is still to be announced. Paul Sturrock's men picked up their first victory of the season against their West Yorkshire rivals last season, and will hope to pick up another three points against Kevin Blackwell's side on August bank holiday weekend.
