Owls rivals Town part with boss Clark

Wednesday's promotion rivals Huddersfield Town have today parted company with manager Lee Clark and his backroom staff.

The news comes as a shock with the Terriers placed fourth in npower League One but with chairman Dean Hoyle seemingly keen for an improvement in form with 16 matches to go this season.

Hoyle said: 'This was a very difficult decision; one not taken lightly or in response to one result.Concerns have been raised over recent weeks.

'Lee and his coaching staff have put their all into the job over the past three seasons and he has made a huge contribution to the Club.

'However with 16 matches to go we still have an opportunity to achieve promotion and we have made this change with this in mind.'

Town lost 1-0 at home against Sheffield United last night and in turn fell four points behind the Blades, and the automatic promotion spots, having played a game more.

Lucky Megson's not Huddersfield manager. He'd be long gone.

Anybody fancy a mad geordie in charge?

He could even bring Jordan Rhodes with him ! ! ! ! !

Have to say this has shocked me but it should only be good news for us (this season at least) as I can't see a new manager getting more out of that team than Clark did!
TheMightyBoosh
F*** Clarke and Huddersfield he has proved he is a arrogant horrible T*** who has achieved nothing as a manager it couldn't have happened to a nicer man. Watch us go now in the next two matches. It is clear listening to Meggo that Ryan Lowe is gonna play against Chesterfield and Rob jones is to be replaced by Llera Madine will be a bench warmer for the next two games at least

Bit of a strange one this, can't say I like the guy but really..... They've only lost three games all season and have just beat that record..... Eh? Who's the chairman at the Galpharm? Wouldn't have the initials DA would he? Haha. Ah well, doesn't concern us, we need to concentrate on our club. WTID UTO.

wasn't he was in the running for the sunderland job not that long ago? how things change quickly in football. As for Wednesday we should just concentrate on securing a play-off place and if results go our way and we find ourselves back in an automatic place then that's a bonus.

I think they've got Warnock lined up> imagine losing the play off final to him after United have been automaticallt promoted!!
Radon Barrier
Thanks a lot Radon, that would be my worst nightmare I could imagine ! Warnock hates us and he would love it. Hope he gets the Leeds job and then we could hate him even more !

Whats rally annoying is that Ben 10 is keeping the bench warm at Leicester at the moment. What about MM uses his contacts to get him on loan??
Radon Barrier
Do you think there's a chance Nigel Pearson has it in for us? Maybe since his 'double act' with Big Ron was nipped in the bud that time? To snatch Ben10 away from us is one thing, but to sit him on the bench seems like rubbing our noses in it somehow.
OurMaurice
Think it's clear OurMaurice that as good as Marshall was for us he's not set the world alight previously, do you remember him for Carlisle last season? Pearson’s local ties have obviously heard on the grapevine that he's a bit of a player and signed him without really knowing whether he can hack it in the Championship. Ben Marshall has obviously had his head turned or been ill advised by his agent. I imagine we won’t hear about him now until he moves again. Crying Shame.

whether lee clark is a arrogant smug toss pot is irrelevant if he is successful. I'd say losing only 3 games all season and being sat in 4th with a game in hand against the 3rd placed team does not represent a reason for sacking for someone. By the same token Megson has done a decent job in the league. I have said before on here that we should aim to win every match as it nurtures the right mentality in the players, we should have put out a team to beat Blackpool and I fear that game has cost us. Imagine if we'd won and were looking at 5th round game against Everton, I'd think our performance in the last two games would have been far higher and the buzz around the club would be massive now
Hirsty's Shinpads
I agree entirely, Hirsty's Shinpads. Conceding a last minute penalty was just rotten luck but we should've sent Blackpool packing at Hillsborough. We had a couple of players cup-tied but they'd made a host of changes too. Our players think they're good enough to compete at Championship level, well that was another chance for them to prove it. Ah well, it's gone and we need to put it behind us. I do understand the thinking behind such decisions, but it didn't work out last time either. Two league defeats on the bounce. That's history repeating itself.
