'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owls part company with assistant boss

Wednesday assistant manager Chris Evans has left the club by mutual consent today.

Evans was part of the coaching staff that Gary Megson brought to Hillsborough but he remained at S6 after Megson's departure last month.

However, he's now followed Megson out of the club following the arrival of new boss Dave Jones.

'I wish to thank all concerned at Sheffield Wednesday over the past two seasons,' Evans said in a statement.

'In particular, I pay tribute to a talented squad of players and to the most loyal army of supporters, with whom I enjoyed a special relationship.

'I have to say it has been a privilege working for the club.'
