Owls duo up for monthly awards

Owls duo up for monthly awards

Wednesday manager Dave Jones and on-loan winger Michail Antonio have been nominated for this month's Football League awards.

The Owls enjoyed a superb month in March, winning five and drawing two of their npower League One matches to close the gap on second-placed Sheffield United to just two points.

And Jones, who took over from Gary Megson at the end of February, has received recognition for working his magic by being nominated for the Manager of the Month award.

He'll be up against Ronnie Moore, of Tranmere Rovers, and Greg Abbott, of Carlisle United, for the accolade.

Antonio, on-loan at Hillsborough from Reading, has also received recognition for his top-drawer performances in the blue and white stripes.

Brought into the club by Megson, Antonio has flourish for Wednesday this month, scoring goals and providing plenty of assists.

The winners will be announced on Sky Sports on Friday from 10am.

Definitely seem to have gone for the low-key approach to what could prove to be the most pivotal game of the season (not counting Pigs at home). We haven't even had the weekly team talk from My_Old_Mate. Allow me then: Pass pass pass wind wind wind. Blow 'em away, lads!
