No Owls in PFA Team of the Year

The PFA Team of the Year for League One was announced last night - and Wednesday didn't have a single player included in the eleven.

Despite pushing Sheffield United all the way for the second automatic promotion spot, Wednesday players failed to be recognised for their efforts this term.

Only four clubs had players in the team - Charlton Athletic, Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town and MK Dons.

Wednesday players such as Danny Batth, Jose Semedo and Gary Madine will have all been expecting to be in with a shout of making the team, but they had no such luck.

But there were two former Owls included in the eleven. Defender Michael Morrison, or Charlton Athletic, and midfielder Darren Potter, now at MK Dons, both got the nod to be included.

The full PFA League One Team of the Year is: Ben Hamer (Charlton), Jack Hunt (Huddersfield Town), Michael Morrison (Charlton), Harry Maguire (Sheffield United), Rhoys Wiggins (Charlton), Johnnie Jackson (Charlton), Stephen Quinn (Sheffield United), Stephen Gleeson (MK Dons), Darren Potter (MK Dons), Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town), Ched Evans (Sheffield United).

This must come as a huge comfort for Ched, to know his fellow pros admire him nearly as much as that big ugly brute in the next cell.

For a minute I thought that said Darren Potter.

I consider this good news, it shows that we are not a 1 man show and our performances are due to teamwork. Our talent is spread across the whole team!

How can you accumlate nearly 90 points and have no players in the team of the year, what a joke,no semedo over potter , i'm sure antonio would be ahead of wiggins ( who is he? .)
carlton owl
I'm sure at least Baath and Semedo should be in there!

I agree with owl1, were not a 1 man team although I think it's a joke that not one single player made it into the squad especially Semedo, but on the plus side the team can shove this down the throats of the people who decide it by taking 2nd spot. UTO, Keeping the faith since 1867. Also still recovering from Saturday.

How can the Pfa have convicted rapist in the list, well done Pfa!!

No Semedo or Reda?? But room for a raper!! Joke shop, tin pot awards!! Really hope we go up automatically and we can stick the big V's up to everyone else in that league!!

I understand that there was only one vote in it between Madine and Evans the guy on the selection panel was hard of hearing and thought he had to select the Beast team of the year
andymac-scoresagoal
Morrison and Potter both in there. I give up!
TheMightyBoosh
morrison is a good player. we never gave him a chance. semedo should have made it. the upshot is that our best players have been marshall and antonio and both have only had half a season
Hirsty's Shinpads
Hirsty's, Antonio has had a full season in the division playing for SWFC and Colchester, 26 starts, 8 goals, 8 assists, he must be in the list I think.
RatherRandomOwl
Anyway, looking at it positively, I think it's better not to attract unnecessary attention from bigger clubs, we know what our boys are worth.
RatherRandomOwl
Players from Charlton, United, MK Dons and Huddersfield - no other teams - no Wednesday. It's ridiculous. They can stuff it!
Cheshire Cat
totally agree RRO. if we want to keep him its best he doesn't get a mention. was he as good for colchester as he is for us?
Hirsty's Shinpads
Hirsty's ,I have not seen him play for Colchester, but his stats match the stats he has while being at SWFC - even goals and assists from the same amount of matches. So I assume his performances were of the same quality for Colchester. After that he was in the team at Reading for more than a month, starting games and coming off the bench in almost every game, not just being a deep sub. He's had an amazing season I think. Let's hope he wears blue and white next season too, we need young hungry players.
