Burnley winger extends Owls loan stay

Burnley winger extends Owls loan stay

Wednesday have extended the loan deal for Burnley winger Keith Treacy until the end of the season, including potential play-off games.

The Irish midfielder's initial loan deal at Hillsborough was due to expire following Saturday's 2-1 victory over Carlisle United, but the player and both clubs have agreed for the 23-year-old to stay on at S6.

It'll mean Treacy is eligible to be involved in Wednesday's two remaining league matches, at Brentford this weekend and at home against Wycombe Wanderers on the final day of the season, as well as any potential play-off games.

The former Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United man has yet to make a start in the blue and white stripes but has featured five times from the bench.

Any views on how he has done? I haven't heard much on his performances.

Think the limited time he has spent on the pitch indicates his lack of fitness, Want to see more shots from outside the area, Ive seen him score a couple of worldies in the past

He's not first choice but would be stupid to let him go with the play-offs potentially looming!
