Owls braced for Hillsborough ticket rush

Wednesday are braced for a busy day at the Hillsborough ticket office tomorrow after announcing the release of 6,000 extra tickets for home supporters for Saturday's clash with Wycombe.

The Owls could clinch automatic promotion to the Championship this weekend if they beat already-relegated Wanderers, or equal Sheffield United's result at Exeter City.

Dave Jones's men leapfrogged the Blades on Saturday as United could only manage a 2-2 draw at home against Stevenage and the Owls beat Brentford 2-1 at Griffin Park.

The potential of a final-day showdown prompted rapid ticket sales for the Wycombe clash even before Saturday's events unfolded.

And now the game is braced for a sell-out, with Wednesdayites being given both tiers of the West Stand to cope with demand following club meetings today.

Visiting Wycombe supporters will instead be housed in the North West corner of Hillsborough.

The extra tickets will go on sale at 9am tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
