Owls flock for Wycombe tickets

Dedicated Wednesday fans have been queuing overnight at Hillsborough in a bid to get tickets for this Saturday's crunch game against Wycombe Wanderers.

The miserable weather hasn't stopped thousands of Wednesdayites making the trip to the Owls Ticket Office to get a ticket for Saturday's final game of the season - one that would see Wednesday secure automatic promotion to the Championship should they equal Sheffield United's result at Exeter City.

The match is nearing a sell-out and some Owls fans started queuing as early as last night for 6,000 extra tickets that have been made available for home fans in the West Stand. Wanderers fans have been moved to the North West Corner to allow extra home support for one of the biggest home matches in recent years.

As of nearly 12 noon, half of the extra 6,000 tickets had been snapped up.

They can be bought in person at the Owls Ticket Office, although there is a large queue, or on phone by calling 0871 900 1867 - though there is a £2 booking charge per ticket. Lines are also expected to be extremely busy.

They can also be bought online at http://shop.sheffieldwednesday.co.uk/ but the site is also expected to be extremely busy. The club has advised fans NOT to click refresh in a bid to get their tickets quicker, however. Doing that will see supporters move to the back of the line. Patience is the order of the day.

Good luck!

Drove past earlier. the queue was MASSIVE.

For the benefit mostly of any SWFC related people who view this site, the online shop is a farce. It queues you but never gets you anywhere, so people will refresh regardless to try and try again. For the record, I already had my tickets sorted, just an observation. The "queuing" system online does not work, it should allow only so many on at one time and fails to do so.
