Owls trio in Team of the Week

Owls trio in Team of the Week

Wednesday continued their successful week by having three players included in the final regular npower League 1 Team of the Week.

Over 38,000 gathered at Hillsborough on Saturday to see the Owls secure their promotion to the Championship thanks to a 2-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.

And a trio of players who played big roles in that victory have been included in the official npower League 1 Team of the Week.

Michail Antonio, who scored the crucial first goal, defender Danny Batth and goalkeeper Stephen Bywater all got the nod to be included.

But there was no place for on-loan striker Nile Ranger, who netted the second to settle the nerves around S6.

Full team: Stephen Bywater (SWFC), Jack Hunt (Huddersfield), Danny Batth (SWFC), Mark Roberts (Stevenage), Mat Sadler (Walsall), Michail Antonio (SWFC), Toumani Diagouranga (Brentford), Kevin McDonald (Sheffield United), Danny Ward (Huddersfield), Yann Kermorgant (Charlton), Will Grigg (Walsall).

Wonder if they are regretting not choosing a single SWFC player in the team of the year. Looks like they are compensating!
