Owls linked with Latics defender Lee

Wednesday are being linked with a move for highly-rated Oldham Athletic defender Kieran Lee.

The 23-year-old is out-of-contract at Boundary Park this summer and Owls boss Dave Jones is understood to be keen on securing the former Manchester United man as he prepares his Owls squad for the Championship.

Some reports have even said Lee has already had a medical at Wednesday.

Latics boss Paul Dickov has already confirmed to Oldham's official website that Lee is in-demand, saying: 'It is no secret that clubs are looking at Kieran, but he enjoys it here.'

Dickov is understandably keen on retaining the full-back but the lure of Championship football could prove too much.

Stalybridge-born Lee came through the Manchester United youth ranks but made just one appearance for the senior side at Old Trafford before moving on to Oldham following a loan stint with QPR.

He's meant to be the real deal. Could have done with him being a left back to be fair, free Reda up to play CB more permanently with Buxton at RB and Llera in the other CB slot.

I think Redas better at left back.

Reda gets found out too often and is a bit cumbersome at CB. I wonder where he'll play next season?!
