Jameson signs new Owls deal

Young goalkeeper Aaron Jameson has agreed terms on a new two-year deal to remain at Wednesday.

The 22-year-old has only made two senior first-team performances for the club but he's showed enough to warrant Dave Jones giving him a new deal to remain an Owl.

The news comes less than 24 hours after Wednesday announced the signing of Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, who's due to arrive in S6 in July.

Stephen Bywater, Wednesday's number one last season, has also been offered a new deal to remain at the club, but Richard O'Donnell was allowed to move on to Chesterfield.

Jameson came through the Owls youth set-up and has enjoyed loan spells away from the club at Matlock Town, Harrogate and Gainsborough.

Seems to me like DJ rates him higher than RO'D, and Bywater's agent will have to lower his sights and start looking elsewhere.

Not relevant this thread but would anyone take Richard wood back now Coventry have been relegated? That's if he's still there.

No, he only left because he didn't get the captains armband and think he would disrupt all the good work that the management have done so far. Don't really rate him either compared to what we already have.

Again no. He made his bed when he started having little tantrums cos he couldnt have his own way. If memory serves, he only stayed with us for his last season because he was made captain! He wasnt even that good! His last match as a wednesday player was awful! he was responsible for us losing that match

I didn't think he was given it tomawest? Either way he started to decline as a player.
