'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owls' Championship opponents confirmed

Wednesday now know all 23 of their opponents in next season's Championship after Huddersfield Town sealed their place via the League One play-offs yesterday.

The Terriers beat Sheffield United in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at a sun-soaked Wembley yesterday afternoon to book their spot in the second tier of English football alongside Wednesday and Charlton Athletic.

Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Wolverhampton Wanderers were the three sides relegated from the Premier League into the Championship. And Doncaster Rovers, Coventry City and Portsmouth were the three sides that dropped into League One.

With Yorkshire rivals Barnsley and Leeds United also in the same division next term, it's all set to be another exciting season in the Championship.

The fixtures for next season will be released on Monday, June 18 at 9am.

Really good times!

I am happy for all you Sheffield based Wednesday fans, who now have the bragging rights well and truely. But the Utd derbies are worth £1-2M, so thats £1-2M less in DJ's transfer budget sadly, so financially it would have been better for Utd. to be in the same division as us.

to be fair to the less amount of money. I disagree with that. Huddersfield will bring a larger than average away following, likely to be almost a sellout anyway. Maybe there will not be as many owls in hillsborough for the match compared to utd however they should still attract a large crowd regardless. I think the loss in revenue is likely to only be a couple of thousand

the only important statistic is that we are in the championship. just remember that United fans would be laughing the place down if roles were reversed. I don't feel too sorry for them at all, it was only 9 months ago that they were holding a big demonstration to get Wilson sacked before he'd even set foot in the joint. i found it quite fitting that blue and white balloons were floating across the wembley pitch throughout the game, have it!

I'm with you all the way on this one. Lets hope any good players the pigs have either leave or get sent down. COME ON YOU BLUE AND WHITE WIZARDS. P.S Hopefully we will not play them for long time. Due to our Double promotion.

Kettering: THE good player they had did get sent down. I belive that they had another average player however he had already booked his holiday and it clashed with the playoffs so got himself sent off at exeter.
