Owls linked with former Leeds man

Wednesday are today being linked with a move for former Celtic and Leeds United defender Darren O'Dea.

O'Dea is a free agent after being released by the SPL giants and Wednesday are one of a number of clubs reported to be chasing the services of the 25-year-old.

The defender spent last season on loan in the Championship with Leeds United but the Whites aren't understood to be interested in taking him back to Elland Road on a permanent basis.

Bolton Wanderers and Burnley are the other clubs keen on the defender, according to the Yorkshire Post.

O'Dea is currently preparing for Euro 2012 with the Republic of Ireland.

Can't quite fathom why we are continually linked with defenders. Would have thought a 20 goal striker was top priority and don't tell me Madine is the answer because he isn't.

watched o'dea a few times last season was'nt impressed maybe it's in case the gardner deal falls through
retfordowl1867
would prefer him to Gardner

Dooley, it's because Batth was on loan and Rob Jones won't cut it in The Championship.

Good luck if you get him. Very slow, one dimensional and a liability. We was going to offer him a contract until he got a stupid sending off at the end of the season (his third suspension of the season).

not for me but if jones has faith he will be ok for me

Jones has denied any interest

No thanx

If Leeds don't want him we definatly don't. Plenty of better players out there looking for clubs and plenty of time till August. Up the Owls

This site is gash! We've signed Mattock and there's nothing on here about it.

Lol Balli. Good signing in my opinion. Was thinking how few updates you get on this site of late myself actually mate
Carbone's Padawan
Agreed, I think we've signed well so far this summer. I like how we're building a solid base from the back - quality keeper (when fit), everything I've heard about Keiran Lee and Mattock played for a half decent championship team last season and needs to start delivering on his potential. The fact we've spent nothing so far makes these signings even better.

Looking at his off-field antics, he should fit in well with Billy Big Boots. hope DJ can knock some sense into him.

if jones can handle bellamy he can handle ANYONE.
