Owls to visit Oldham in League Cup

Wednesday will kick-off their season with a trip to Oldham Athletic in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The draw for the newly-named competition took place this morning and the Owls will face League One opposition in the week commencing August 13.

The match will actually be played before the start of the new Football League season, which kicks-off on Saturday, August 18.

Other notable fixtures include Sheffield United hosting Burton Albion, Leeds United hosting Shrewsbury Town and Barnsley making the trip to Rochdale.

Premier League clubs will enter at the second round stage, with those involved in European competition entering in round three.

sorry ecco, I stand to be corrected as the fixture list hasn't been brought out yet but unless they have moved the season back a week then the first fixture will be saturday 11th august and the prem will be the week after.
