Owls to visit Rams on opening day

Owls to visit Rams on opening day

Wednesday will mark their return to the Championship by visiting Derby County on the opening day of the season.

Nigel Clough's side will welcome the Owls to Pride Park on Saturday, August 18 before Wednesday host Birmingham City in their first home match on Tuesday, August 21.

Derby games against Barnsley will take place on Saturday, December 15 at Oakwell and Saturday, March 30 at Hillsborough, while Leeds United will visit S6 on Saturday, October 20. Wednesday will visit Elland Road on Saturday, April 13.

Dave Jones's men will close their campaign with a home clash against Middlesbrough on Saturday, May 4.

Could have been a whole lot worse. Shrewsbury at home for instance. Besides, there aren't too many minnows in the Championship anyway so why not start off with a couple of biggies? Can't wait.
