Hi there, Wednesday in Iowa. Yep, disappointment on this side of the pond too but watching England is a gruelling experience these days. And especially when the team's set up to concede possession willingly, maintain a rigid shape come what may and rely on heroic defending in and around the six-yard box or else a lucky break and a quick counter. I said gruelling but vs. Italy it was really quite embarrassing. Yikes! It's not all bad though, at least we have three potentially cracking matches to look forward to and surely it has now been confirmed, once and for all, that far from being 'World Class' Rooney is the same over-hyped and grossly overrated waste of space that 'appeared' in South Africa two years back. Gross being the operative word; two yards short on pace and too fat to jump. And he can't even blame lack of fitness this time. Lack of ability and mental strength? Yes. Aside from Ashley Young he was our worst player of the tournament by a country mile, so why didn't Hodgson drag 'em both off? We kept a clean sheet but lost a lot of friends. Never mind, as much as I'd always like to see England do well it's what's happening at Hillsborough that really counts and so far things seem to be ticking along very nicely.
