Owls sign Slovenia international Pecnik

Wednesday have completed the signing of Slovenia international midfielder Nejc Pecnik.

The 26-year-old arrived at Wednesday initially on trial but has impressed Owls boss Dave Jones enough to earn a two-year deal at Hillsborough.

Jones told the official SWFC websie: 'This is a good signing for us. Nejc came over for a trial and we liked what we saw.

'He is a versatile lad, he has experience and is an international player. I'm looking forward to working with him.'

Pecnik can play on either wing and is also versatile enough to play in attack.

He'd been playing for Portugese side CD Nacional and has also played for NK Dravograd and NK Celje.

Pecnik said: 'Sheffield Wednesday is a club of great tradition and I am delighted to sign.

'The deal was done really quickly after a trial at the club and it was an easy agreement to make the deal.

'My goal is to show myself in a good way for Sheffield Wednesday and build on the experience I already have.'

Just got the tweeted version of a news conference where DJ said he wouldn't be put off by Barton's reputation. But he bloody well should be.
