Norris opts for Leeds over Wednesday

Wednesday have lost out in the race to sign Portsmouth midfielder David Norris with Leeds United set to complete his signing.

The Owls had been battling with their Yorkshire rivals for the former Plymouth Argyle man but Norris is set to join the Elland Road club subject to passing a medical.

Owls boss Dave Jones was keen on the experienced midfield man and it's understood Norris held talks with Wednesday over a move to Hillsborough.

But Leeds looks set to be his destination and a deal is expected to be completed within 24 hours, meaning Jones will have to turn his attentions elsewhere as he bolsters his squad for the new campaign.

Good, he's 31 and not very good. Lines gets loads of ***** from Owls fans for no real justified reason. Would rather see Lines and Semedo than Norris anywhere near our team on the sort of wages he'd want at the age he is too. #comeonantonio

I don't know bali, I think he is a bit better than Lines right now, but Lines will only get better while Norris will only get worse.

if he wants to go to that dump and work for that**** then he clearly never had enough nouse to play for the mighty owls.

Bit better yeah, but in terms of pound for pound and as you say, Lines being likely to improve, i think Lines is the better value. Don't get me wrong, i'd love us to get someone in, mid to late 20's, knows the championship (or higher standard) and either creates/scores or creates and scores...bit of a big ask, but hey, MM works wonders!
