Jones: It was time to move on

Defender Rob Jones has completed his free transfer move from Wednesday to Doncaster Rovers and said he felt it was 'time to move on'.

The centre-back and former Owls skipper spent a year at Hillsborough, helping the Owls to promotion, before ending his contract by mutual consent recently and signing for Rovers today.

He told the official Rovers website: 'On reflection it was a fantastic season for me and for the club, but sometimes you get opportunities to progress and move on in the way that you want to.

'This was an option that excited me, and it gave me a chance to come here, to a great stadium, good fanbase and a good club - sometimes it's time to move on.'

Jones has penned a two-year deal at the Keepmoat Stadium.

I liked Jones and he will murder league 1 attackers good luck to him. Speaking of central defenders Man City have offered £17m for Daniel Agger. What will Agger do do do. Couldn't resist that one.

Ooh. I don't think anyone's paid much attention to the poll since the 'was it a stroke of pure genius to sack Megson' fiasco.
