Owls sign Antonio from Reading

Wednesday have completed the signing of former loan star Michail Antonio from Reading.

The Owls have been chasing the services of the winger throughout the close season and have finally got their man on a four-year contract.

The Royals had knocked Wednesday bids back previously but both clubs have finally come to an agreement and Antonio is now an Owl.

Antonio told the official SWFC website: "I have been waiting patiently for this move all summer and I am so pleased it has gone through. Everything comes to those who wait.

"Winning promotion with Sheffield Wednesday last season was something I will never forget.

"Wednesday fans have been encouraging me all summer to sign and they have played a massive part in this move.

"I would like to say thank you to all of them and now I can focus on next season and helping Wednesday succeed in the Championship."

The 22-year-old signed for Wednesday on loan last term when Gary Megson was manager and played a key role in the Owls' promotion from League One.

"I have been waiting patiently for this move all Summer", me too Antonio, me too!! Absolutely delighted with this, makes a nice change for a player to come on loan and do well who we then sign on a permanent deal. Any more deals likely to happen in the next week or so??
