Reynolds makes Aberdeen loan move

Wednesday defender Mark Reynolds has moved to SPL side Aberdeen on a season-long loan deal.

It'll be the second time the 25-year-old has joined the Dons on loan since being at Hillsborough - he played 16 times after making a loan switch back in January.

Reynolds is way down the pecking order at S6 under manager Dave Jones, especially following summer recruits such as Joe Mattock, Kieron Lee and Anthony Gardner.

Reckon we got our fingers burnt here. Irvine paid £100k +extras, not too much for a player the right age and with a strong rep. But then he gets the boot within a month, GM comes in and clearly doesn't fancy him all that much. He goes up to Aberdeen and does well enough. They're keen to make the move permanent but can't meet his wage demands (especially as some bright spark added a double-your-money clause in the event of us achieving promotion. So back he comes and surprise surprise, DJ doesn't rate him either. We can't sell him (probably because he won't accept a pay cut to go play elsewhere) so what do we do? Buy out his contract and put the whole thing down to experience or work out a low-rent deal that takes him back to Scotland? No doubt we'll still be paying the lion's share of his wages but at least he might find some form and catch the eye up there, eh? Hope so, but I've a feeling he'll be back again next summer.
