Owls goalkeeper set for Doncaster move

Wednesday goalkeeper Nicky Weaver is set for a move to League One side Doncaster Rovers.

The 33-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Hillsborough with Chris Kirkland the new number one following his summer arrival and Stephen Bywater acting as back-up.

And Owls boss Dave Jones has confirmed that Weaver has agreed on a move to the Keepmoat Stadium, with the move all set to be finalised.

Weaver wasn't handed a squad number for the Owls this season and will leave in search of more regular first-team action.

He arrived at Wednesday, his boyhood club, in 2010 following a stint with Burnley and has made 44 appearances in goal for the Owls.

A true Owl, all the best Nicky Weaver - did a good job during a tough period for the club, it's just a shame for him that he doesn't get to revel in the good times

He'd have relished last season's finale though, casowl. You can rest assured on that! Good luck, Nicky. Now you've teamed up with Big Rob and Tommy Spurr I'll be rooting for Donny all season long!
