Owls await big guns in League Cup

The draw for the third round of the Capital One Cup will take place on Thursday night.

Wednesday booked their place in the hat for the next round thanks to a 1-0 victory over Premier League side Fulham at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.

The draw will take place immediately after the televised clash between Northampton Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.

The Owls could come up against a whole host of big names in the next round, with clubs in European competition now entering. Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal will be amongst the sides in the draw.

There will be local derby interest with Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers progressing into the third round and Paolo Di Canio could also make a return to Hillsborough with his Swindon Town side, who beat Stoke City in extra-time.
