Owls Await Jones Decision

Owls boss Paul Sturrock will be anxiously awaiting the verdict on their appeal against Brad Jones' red card picked up against Leeds - after the decision was deferred until next week.

Wednesday were expected to receive a verdict on the sending-off by referee Steve Bennett on Thursday - but the video tape was damaged in transit to the FA on Tuesday. It could only happen to us...

The on-loan Middlesbrough stopper was sent off after 70 minutes of the Owls clash with Yorkshire rivals Leeds United on Sunday for bringing down striker David Healy and giving away the penalty which lead to the decisive goal in Leeds' 1-0 victory.

But Owls boss Paul Sturrock told the official SWFC site he was unhappy at the decision by referee Steve Bennett.

'We've appealed. After looking at the video I feel a double injustice was done to us. Not only was the incident outside the box, our goalkeeper was sent off as well.'

He continued: 'The ball was going away from goal and there was a debate as to whether he would have caught it before it went out of play.'

The Aussie 'keeper will now miss the Owls' next match against Southend United in just over a weeks time. If the FA refuse to overturn the decision it's likely reserve stopper Chris Adamson will be between the sticks for the Championship clash.

Never mind a million years will the FA have the balls to overturn the ban, we might as well just accept that

Glad to see Brad getting a run in the Championship. He did well for us, and is a decent keeper.
