Owls set for bumper Leeds United crowd

Wednesday are expecting their biggest crowd of the season so far for Friday night's visit of Yorkshire rivals Leeds United to Hillsborough.

Over 26,000 tickets have been sold for the visit of the Whites and ticket sales are expected to surpass the 26,598 gate Hillsborough saw for the visit of Bolton Wanderers.

The Yorkshire derby was always going to attract a big crowd but the addition of die-hard Sheffield United fan Neil Warnock at the helm for Leeds has added extra spice to the occasion.

Owls fans are encouraged to buy their tickets sooner rather than later. The club has already warned fans that ticket availability on the North Stand and the Kop is limited.

Wednesday's average attendance of 25,080 this season is second only to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Listen Just wanted to send apologies for the way the d1ckhead behaved last night at your home game. Believe me when I say this, but every Leeds fan I have spoken to is thoroughly embarrassed at the way that crank behaved, we are not wanting to be associated with idiots like that at our club. Now I know what you are thinking as regards a reputation at Leeds & we sort of enjoy the kudos that goes with it to some extent but there is a time when a line is crossed and it was last night. I'm not going to bang on about chants and who sings what, I am a Leeds fan and I know the songs that are sung by us and visiting teams so I am not going to be a hypocrite and start moaning about these no matter how bad they are. These Yorkshire derby's are what we all look forward to as there is an extra humph to them and we all know that, but at the end of the day I do believe that it should go no further than the terrace. Unfortunately there are no winners in last nights events we have managers having a pop at one another, supporters blaming each other, managers having a pop at players, managers having a pop at supporters, supporters having a pop at the police & stewards and on it goes. Unfortunately now we at Leeds now have to deal with the fallout from all this. Bad press, inquires, possible FA action etc etc and why because of one mindless idiot who probably thought he was being clever. He has put both sets of fans under the microscope from last nights game & if it wasn't for his actions nothing more would have come out but now all and everyone is bickering about this. Can I tell you that the guy who did this is already named & shamed as he has had previous for this and already had banning orders to his name before last nights game. It wont be long before he is picked up by the old bill and hopeful a jail sentence will follow. The guy comes from Cheltenham and I am telling you now if he were to be seen around Leeds I am sure would be quite a deep line of Leeds folk wanting to give a taste of his own medicine. Our apologies go to Mr Kirkland, everything else that happened was just business as usual which ever side it came from. from a disappointed Leeds fan today
