Owls boss blasts Leeds fans

Wednesday boss Dave Jones blasted Leeds United supporters following Friday night's 1-1 derby draw at Hillsborough.

One 'fan' ran on the pitch to strike Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland after Michael Tonge hit the visitors' 77th minute equaliser, leaving the stopper requiring treatment, probably for shock more than anything else, for five minutes.

It wasn't just that highlighted incident that riled Jones, however. Visiting fans also ripped advertising boards down from the top tier before throwing them down on to their fellow Leeds fans below them, and threw seats on to the pitch in scenes similar to Leeds fans at the other side of the city at Bramall Lane a few years ago.

Chants were also aimed at the Owls boss throughout, and he was left fuming at the unacceptable scenes.

"I`m really sad that we`re not talking about the football but what we saw tonight is unacceptable,' he said post-match.

"They should be banned from every away ground now. They should be punished. It is just upsetting that they are able to do it.

'The authorities have to look at it and sort it. I'm talking about an incident when we should be talking about the football.'

Kirkland spoke to police about the incident after the match and the Football Association has confirmed it will investigate the scenes when they receive the referee's report.

It's so dissapointing to see the league table and it could look a little worse later, but hey lets have a look it the performance. Kirkland nothing to do exept pick the ball out of the net. Bechio has been a pain in the but to every defence he's played against this season. He never got a sniff well done Llera / Gardner. Jones is really a squad player and you could tell but he was giving 100% Buxton was cool and sensible in possesion and supported well going forward. They were terrified of Antonio and hes getting to the standard now we expect. Samedo was fantastic and Diouf could not shake him off for a second what a performance. Barkley obviously has class and looked a little more confident but still gave the ball away in some dodgy areas. Corry I think never wasted one ball last night and won't be long before he is a regukar in my opinion. Bothroyd lets be fair now he proved last night that he is 100% committed definately match fit now and had I think a great game O,Grady it doesnot matter if we are playing Man Utd or Barnet he plays with the same agression passion and commitment well done boys UTO

Will the real jay bothroyd please stand up, it's been along time coming but last night we may have seen the true potential, still wasted plenty I games playing him but now we may benefit from him. The team played well last night, tonges goal was unstoppable but we should have won that game in the first half. Final third is still a let down and work to do.

So Dave Jones thinks a decent society shouldn't allow "animals" like Leeds fans to attend any more away games .. ever ?? - would that be a different decent society from the one that would put all boy buggering child abusers in prison .. for ever??
