Madine set for Swindon Town loan move

Wednesday striker Gary Madine is expected to complete a loan move to Swindon Town next week.

The former Carlisle United hitman, who has featured 15 times for the Owls this season but scored just once, was expected to link-up with Paolo Di Canio's side before the weekend but the move has been delayed.

The 22-year-old has not been a regular starter at Hillsborough this term, despite being key in the Owls' promotion from League One last season, and will move to the League One side with the hope of getting more match action.

The move could allow Wednesday manager Dave Jones bring in another striker to S6 next week before the loan deadline passes.

Swindon had a transfer embargo lifted earlier this week, allowing Di Canio to bolster his squad, and Madine is high up on his 'wanted' list.

Three league starts this season plus nine appearances as sub, an average of less than thirty minutes per game. I'd hardly call it a fair crack of the whip. Presume Swindon are waiting for the outcome of his court case next week. Fingers crossed that works out okay, he goes on a one-month goal scoring spree and then comes back like a dog with two tails and raring to go. In the meantime, if he fancies banging a couple in tonight as a going away present then that'll be fine by me.

he's not been given a chance this season may be more to do with his off the field antics than his ability i think we should keep him and get rid of boothroyd and rodri and bring a permanant signing in in january who wants to play for the club.
