Owls' Pecnik at the double for Slovenia

Wednesday's Nejc Pecnik scored twice for Slovenia in an international friendly on Wednesday night but it was not enough to help stop his nation going down to a 3-2 loss against Macedonia.

The Owls attacker, who can play in midfield or as a striker, is a regular for his country and featured in their friendly clash tonight to net both goals in their defeat.

Pecnik, who arrived at Hillsborough in the summer, will be hoping his goals catch the attention of Owls boss Dave Jones, who has yet to give the player a regular run of games in the first team.

The Slovenian has made 13 appearances for Wednesday so far this season but most of those appearances have come from the bench and in a variety of positions.

a striker who is scoring- he will never get into the first team

I wonder if ipswich or Bristol City would fancy taking him on loan?

Sure thing...but only if we continue to pay the lion's share of his wages. That's how it works, isn't it? Shoot off your own foot and then stump up for the privilege (no pun intended... well, maybe a little bit!)
