Owls consider Millwall's Beevers bid

Wednesday are understood to be considering an offer from Millwall to sign defender Mark Beevers on a permanent basis.

The Lions have made a bid to make the Barnsley-born defender's switch to London permanent in January after impressing on a loan deal with Kenny Jackett's men.

Beevers, a product of Wednesday's youth set-up, has made ten appearances for the Lions following his loan move in October and has even chipped in with a goal to help Millwall up the Championship table.

He is down the pecking order at Hillsborough under boss Dave Jones at the moment, despite making eight appearances for the Owls this season before moving south. Jones signed Anthony Gardner and Martin Taylor this season and also has Miguel Llera on his centre-back books.

Wednesday could also be looking to add further defensive players to their options in January in light of their current troubles - and may need to let players go to fund incoming additions.

It's ok let him go we've got Taylor and Gardner.......absolute joke!!! Going down faster than a lead balloon.

Would be madness to sell but perhaps in view of his treatment under DJ he'd prefer to be away from S6 no matter how strong his ties are. Wolves won, Ipswich won, (13 points from seven games - now that's what you call a manager with fire in his belly), Barnsley, Bristol City and Peterborough all lost: its looking increasingly like perm any three from four for the drop and that's almost before December's started. What has happened at our club.
