Former Owls loanee joins Leeds United

Former Wednesday loanee Ross Barkley has returned to Yorkshire on-loan - but to Owls' rivals Leeds United.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock has snapped-up the young midfielder on an initial one-month deal from Everton, after he spent a loan stint at Hillsborough earlier this season.

Wednesday boss Dave Jones has yet to bolster his squad during the January transfer window but Barkley, who featured thirteen times for the Owls, could have been on his 'wanted list' - with Warnock revealing four other clubs were in for his services.

The 19-year-old actually played for the Owls against Leeds in the 1-1 draw at Hillsborough in October.

I'm fine with this. I thought DJ's efforts to accommodate Barkley did more harm than good. The question now is: How will L**ds fare over the next four weeks? If both the team and the player do well it'll be seen as a definite feather in Colin's cap.
