Jones leaves Owls for Port Vale

Wednesday defender Daniel Jones has left the club and joined Port Vale.

The 26-year-old departed Hillsborough by mutual consent and has joined League Two side Port Vale on a contract until the end of the season.

Jones said: "I`ve really enjoyed my time at Sheffield Wednesday. I haven`t played as many games as I would I have liked and I am ready for a new challenge.

"Wednesday is a massive club and I hope the lads can turn it around this season and climb the table."

Jones was down the pecking order under Owls boss Dave Jones, who has made it clear he needs to move players out before he brings new additions in during the January transfer window.

That's Mike Jones & Daniel Jones off the payroll. How about going for the hat-trick?

When is a free transfer not a free transfer? Apparently when a player leaves one club 'by mutual consent' and then joins another later the same day. Smacks of Agent Biz if you ask me, with extra emphasis on 'loyalty bonuses' and the likes. It also stinks to high heaven.
