Lines makes MK Dons loan switch

Lines makes MK Dons loan switch

Wednesday midfielder Chris Lines has moved to League One side MK Dons on loan until the end of the season.

The midfielder missed the start of Wednesday's Championship season through injury and has struggled to cement down a starting role in Dave Jones's starting eleven following his return.

He makes the move to Milton Keynes with the aim of getting some vital minutes between now and the end of the season.

"I`m looking forward to joining MK Dons and hopefully getting some games under the belt,' Lines told the official SWFC website.

"I really need some playing time and one club that immediately came to my attention was MK Dons because I like how they play the game and they are doing well in League 1."

Lines's move away from Hillsborough may also allow Owls boss Dave Jones the extra funds to bolster his squad elsewhere as Wednesday look to continue their climb away from the relegation zone.

The former Bristol Rovers man has made just four starts for the Owls this term, with two further appearances coming from the bench.

Well Chris seems to have moved from SWFC U21 (senior) to what is becoming SWFC reserves. Maybe after last week he sees this as a step up !!

All this head scratching is playing havoc with my dandruff! I suppose this one was on the cards although I'm surprised it's till the end of the season. Are we that flush with midfielders? I know he's been out injured and could use some games but if he were to find a bit of form it'd be like getting a new player in come the end of Feb. Still, there is a pattern developing I suppose. Our glorious run-in last season? Who could forget that. The midfield duo of Lines & Semedo? Beevers covering for Reda's absence? Llera filling in for Rob Jones? JJ out injured? CO'G nowhere to be seen? (Well some things never change). We had our summer influx of exciting new talent but wait a minute. Dan Jones in and Beevers out? JJ in AND out? Coke & Prutton bossing the midfield and somehow keeping Semedo on the bench (is he next out then?). DJ really had it in for Llera at the start of the season, he's our rock now but will he get a new deal? Doesn't look like it. Well Dan Jones has gone now and all, so the next time Reda serves a ban what's the betting Julian Bennett steps up to the plate? Hey, why not go whole hog and farm out Madine for the rest of this season (Millwall? He'd do well there, fill his boots in fact) ...and bring Clinton back. That's a joke by the way (or is it?) :0I

We're told that DJ has allowed this move to go ahead because Lines desperately needs games after coming back from injury, which is fair enough except the length of his loan period means we aren't likely to benefit one way or the other. Now we're being told DJ has his eye on Stephen MacPhail to replace him. This being the same Stephen MacPhail who, at 33, has been dogged by injury of late and has yet to make a single league appearance for Cardiff this season. You couldn't make it up!
