Wednesday cancel Rodri loan deal

Wednesday have brought an early end to Rodri's stay at Hillsborough, cancelling his contract by mutual consent.

The Barcelona B forward, who arrived in Sheffield last August on a season-long loan deal, has struggled to adapt to life in S6, with chances being few and far between.

The former Sevilla man scored on his Owls debut, a 3-2 victory over Birmingham City, but Owls boss Dave Jones has started the player in just four more matches in all competitions.

Rodri has been linked with a move to La Liga side Zaragoza and that could be his next destination after seeing his time at Wednesday cut short.

His departure may also free up some money for Jones to bring in another forward before the close of the January transfer window on Thursday.
