This week we ask the questions to Hull City fan Matt - journalist on our sister site Vital Hull City! We talk Peter Taylot, Nick Barmby, and more...
1. What has your start to the season been like?
Not the best. We won our first game of the season at Leicester thanks to a wonder goal. We didn't play very well but won, yet when we play well we lose. Hopefully this has turned our season and we can start to push up the league now.
2. What players have you brought in/let go over the summer?
Michael Bridges and Nicky Forster both came in on deadline day and both look good signings, especially Bridges. Bridges scored his first goal against Leicester the other night. We lost Leon Cort to Palace but bought in Michael Turner from Brentford as his replacement. We've also signed Welsh international Sam Ricketts and Spurs youngster Dean Marney, although he hasn't made the impact that we expected.
Mark Yeates is a loan player we signed from Spurs but he hasn't played yet, although he may do against you - there are also rumors suggesting we are on the verge of signing Danny Mills on loan.
3. What do you think of Peter Taylor's departure?
In the end, good. When he turned down Charlton, we thought it was fantastic and he said he had a job to finish here at Hull. Two weeks later, he went off to Palace. The worst part was the fact he moved to a club in the same league. It's a very divided opinion between 'god' and 'judas' when you ask a fan what he thinks of Peter Taylor.
4. And the arrival of Phil Parkinson?
He is one of the best up and coming managers in the game. It looks like he has taken time to adapt to the Championship but at last he has that first win. He set the team up to attack to start with, but after some defeats he went defensive - hopefully he'll find the middle ground soon enough!
5. We haven't heard much of Stuart Elliott recently, whats happened to him?
Out of favor. He had the amazing season in League 1 but hasn't been able to reproduce that form in the Championship. He started on the opening day but was subbed after half an hour and hasn't featured since (one or two subs and that's it.) It's fairly expected he'll leave soon - either on loan to get confidence and form back or try to get a fee for him.
6. Any truth behind these rumours of Barmby coming to Wednesday?
Doubt it. An interview on Radio Humberside said that he was fully committed to Hull and didn't want to go anywhere else after it's taken him so long to play for us. He was involved in the squad at Leicester but didn't play. I think it was The Sun making things up and are now trying to cover their tracks.
7. If you could take one player from Wednesday to Hull who would it be and why?
Chris Brunt might be a good addition to our squad. We need someone who could supply our forwards with chances and he could do that.
8. And if you could send one Hull player to Hillsborough who would it be and why?
I'm not sure really. I'd probably send Daryl Duffy to you on loan so he can score some goals and come back to our team full of confidence.
9. What's your most memorable Tigers v Owls match?
It would have to be the 4-2 encounter in League One. It was my first time to Hillsbrough and what a night! I think the fact it was a night match made it better but with 8,000 Tigers fans there it was a truly memorable encounter (for us anyway.) Great atmosphere, even with City fans still entering the stadium 40 minutes into the first half!
10. Who are your danger men?
Michael Bridges and Nicky Forster - Bridges opened his Tigers account with a wonder strike at Leicester whilst Forster also looks good. The Beast Jon Parkin should be back from suspension and would also be a threat if he features.
11. What do you think of Wednesday's chances this season?
In all honesty, not very much. I expect you to finish around the same position as you did last season. You won't get relegated but mid-table is the highest you will get.
12. Finally, what do you think the score will be?
Following our first win, confidence should be high. If you aren't aware, City haven't won in nine live TV games on SKY (it's a nit of a curse we have) but we have to end it sometime and this could be it. 3-1 to the Tigers!
CHEERS MATT! Good luck for the rest of the campaign, after Friday night of course!
