Mayor wings in to Southend on loan
Wednesday winger Danny Mayor has joined Southend United on an initial 28-day loan.
The former Preston North End player has found chances few and far between at Hillsborough since his summer switch and his move to the Shrimpers will give him more competitive game time.
Mayor has made just nine appearances for the Owls in all competitions but he could go straight into Southend's squad for their clash against Cheltenham at Roots Hall tonight.
He will link up with former Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock, and fellow Owls loanee Caolan Lavery, during his stint - and it could be extended if it suits all parties.
