Madine linked with Doncaster loan move

Madine linked with Doncaster loan move

Wednesday striker Gary Madine is being linked with a loan move to League One side Doncaster Rovers.

Owls boss Dave Jones has been trying to get the former Carlisle United forward a temporary move away from Hillsborough but Madine has so far turned down the approaches of clubs understood to include Swindon Town.

But with the arrivals of Leroy Lita and Connor Wickham to Hillsborough on loan deals, Madine has dropped way down the pecking order at Wednesday and could benefit from playing regular football elsewhere.

The Sheffield Telegraph is reporting that Rovers are targeting two new additions before next Monday's league trip to Crawley and Madine is understood to be one of those targets.

Madine has struggled to make an impact in the Championship, scoring just three goals all season from 28 appearances in all competitions.

Is this from the same source as 'Weaver linked with Donny move' from way back when? Well let's say there's some truth behind it, DJ is only going to give Madine the odd 5mins every now and again, especially with Wickham here to (hopefully) play alongside Lita. So a loan move to Donny seems like a good idea all round. Get a few full games in, bag a few goals, help spoil the piggie's season some more, and all on your own doorstep! Then, when O'Neill decides Sunderland need some of that sparkling form Wickham has been producing for Wednesday, Madine can come back in and prove all his doubters wrong. There, sorted!

Ahh, the perfect world eh? For what it's worth I like Madine, and I think he will go on to be a successful Championship / lower premier league striker (Holt-esque). Just hope we reap some of the rewards either his goals, or financially with sell on clauses. It all of course depends on the lad himself and whether he can keep hi nose clean for 2 bloody minutes

Yes Me too CasOwl. Madine has most of the right qualities that make him that threat we will need. His attitude seems good and he is wholehearted too. Perhaps a loan move would be better for us but he may think that even mostly not playing in the Championship may improve his chances next season of staying at this level rather than being moved on downwards.

There is absolutely no way Madine is going to Donny he is more likely to go to either Bristl City Wolves Bolton or Birmingham

lol, or how about Peterborough? On Tuesday night George Boyd scores one and makes three as they thump Millwall 5-1 away. Two days later he joins Hull on loan. Has the world gone mad?
