Folly Set For Owls Return

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has received a massive boost by learning midfielder Yoann Folly will return to full training next week - weeks ahead of schedule.

The former Southampton midfielder has been sidelined for the Owls after picking up a knee injury in Wednesday's second game of the season against Luton Town at Hillsborough last month.

But the Wednesday boss has stressed that although it's good news to see the Frenchman back in training ahead of schedule, it doesn't mean the Owls faithful will see him back in match action anytime soon.

He told the Sheffield Star: 'Yoann should be back in training on Monday. I would like him to be back; he is very athletic and would give us another edge.'

'It's good to have players coming back, but I've got to remember that if they're available for training; we all tend to think that we've got back the players as they were when they were 100 per cent.'

The midfielder started his career at French club St Etienne before moving to Southampton in the summer of 2003 for £250,000. And although it was Sturrock who gave Folly his chance at St Mary's, he was loaned out to Nottingham Forest and Preston before joining the Owls for the back end of last season. He made 14 appearances for the club before signing on a permanent basis in the summer.

Great news for us. Can't wait to see him back alongside Whelen in midfield they looked a quality pairing for the few games they played together!
