Small Set For Run-Out

Owls newboy Wade Small is set to step up his return to full fitness by featuring for Wednesday's reserve team in the clash with Rotherham United tonight.

Small arrived at Hillsborough in the summer for an undisclosed fee from MK Dons but has seen his outings in the blue and white shirt limited due to injury.

The winger's latest injury has seen him sidelined with a hamstring injury but Small returned to full training with the rest of the Owls squad at the start of last week - and hopes to get back in to first team action shortly.

And the 22-year-old could make the Owls squad to travel to Sunderland in the Coca-Cola Championship on Saturday as Paul Sturrock looks to steer Wednesday out of the bottom three following a disappointing start to the season.

Owls trio of strikers Steve Maclean, Drew Talbot and Barry Corr are also included in the reserve squad after featuring in the Owls defeat to Derby County at the weekend.

Good luck to the lad, looked forward to seeing him in action in his preferred position since we signed him.

what is his prefered position though? because a winger does not really fit into out system at the moment. saw the lad against sturrock though and boy did he have eletric pace! looked much better than lloyd sam.

Let's hope he gets free of injury and his preferred position isn't the treatment room!
