Owls part company with Lines

Midfielder Chris Lines has left Wednesday by mutual consent.

The former Bristol Rovers man dropped down the pecking order at Hillsborough last season, spending the second half of the campaign at MK Dons on loan, and became seemingly surplus to requirements under Owls boss Dave Jones.

Reports suggest Lines could be set for a move to a club in League One, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him return to Milton Keynes.

He made 53 appearances for the Owls after joining from the Pirates in August 2011.

Not even able to raise an undisclosed fee, huh? Baffling. Semedo next methinks...

Well we need some out in order to bring some in, I wouldn't disagree with Maurice on Semedo being next.

That's what we're all waiting for, optimisticowl. Some 'end' to justify the 'means'. Will MM's four or five recruits now become six or seven or are we really going for quality this time? Three relatively unknown foreign imports would hardly set the pulses racing in view of what happened with Pecnik, Rodri & Amado and as much as a 'star' signing like (dare I say it?) Kenwyne is bound to whet the appetite most of us won't have got over Bothroyd yet. So... we have one in already from Burton, another linked from Cheltenham (I can feel another lairning cairve coming on) and in the meantime we're merrily disposing of players who have already served us well in the past. So what's it gonna be? More ageing freebies and a couple of loanees thrown in for good measure? I hope not. Anyway, it's over to those fellas sat round the big table to make us feel proud again. Take it away...
